A change in current funding has led to a refocus of the specialist support provided by our bespoke veterans-led service for HM Forces veterans living in Norfolk and Suffolk.
As our workers have all served in the Forces themselves, they are sensitive to the complexities of military life and the often-understandable resistance to admitting the extent of any personal issues, especially those relating to: PTSD and other mental health; alcohol and drug use; domestic violence and family related issues. We also offer groups that provide an opportunity for like-minded adults to get together and support each other.
New Manager, Jonathan (35 years’ service in the RAF) said: “After living and working alongside other serving personnel I’m excited to take on the opportunity of supporting our veteran community across Norfolk and Suffolk. Reflecting on the 40 stories for 40 years exhibition The Matthew Project has recently collated and as Remembrance Sunday approaches, now seems a particularly poignant time to take OTW forward.”
Charitable services are exposed to changes in funding and this serves to highlight the importance of all of the financial support we get at The Matthew Project. You can find further information about how to support us here.
